Duke of Edinburgh's Award

Welcome to The Streetly Academy Duke of Edinburgh Group. We offer the award at all three levels as seen below. Click on an award to see more information. If you need more information on the award contact Mr Caffrey (Duke of Edinburgh Co-ordinator) at the academy.

Bronze

Students complete their Bronze Award in Year 10. To gain the full award students must complete all four sections for the timescales listed below.

Volunteering Physical Skills Expedititon
3 months 3 months 3 months Plan, train for and complete a 2 day, 1 night expedition
You must undertake a further three months in the Volunteering, Physical or Skills section.

Expedition Dates 2011

Bronze Practice - 29th April to 1st May 2011
Bronze Qualifier - 1st July to 3rd July 2011

 
Silver

Students complete their Silver Award in Year 11. To gain the full award students must complete all four sections for the timescales listed below.

Volunteering Physical Skills Expedititon
6 months One section for 6 months and the other section for 3 months Plan, train for and complete a 3 day, 2 night expedition
Direct entrants must undertakes a further six months in the Volunteering or the longer of the physical or skills sections.

Expedition Dates 2011

Silver Practice - 1st April to 3rd April 2011
Silver Qualifier - 11th July to 15th July 2011

 
Gold

Students complete their Gold Award in Years 12 and 13. To gain the full award students must complete all five sections for the timescales listed below.

Volunteering Physical Skills Expedititon Expedititon
12 months One section for 12 months and the other section for 6 months Plan, train for and complete a 4 day, 3 night expedition Undertake a shared activity in a residential setting away from a home for 5 days and 4 nights
Direct entrants must undertakes a further 6 months in either the Volunteering or the longer of the physical or skills sections.

Gold Practice - 5th March to 7th March  2011
Gold Camping Practice (Direct Gold Only) - 1st to 3rd April 2011
